Hi, I'm Edward Heard, your proud Principal at Tarkington Early Childhood School (TECS) and Tarkington Elementary School (TES)!

Growing up in the small town of Youngstown, Ohio, I developed a passion for education that has guided my journey. After earning my undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida (Go Ospreys!) in Jacksonville, Florida, I pursued a Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University (Go Lopes!).

I'm pursuing a Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I will graduate in the summer of 2025. With 14 years of experience in education, I've spent the last four years serving as an administrator, constantly seeking ways to support students and staff in reaching their fullest potential.

In my personal life, I am blessed with four amazing kids: Jeremiah (15), Zion (14), Elijah (13), and Mackenzie (5). Our family also includes a lovable goldendoodle named Cherry, who our daughter named due to her "cherry blonde fur."

My wife, Shae, and I are passionate about raising our children with the belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. We value instilling confidence and a growth mindset in them.

I am thrilled to serve the staff, students, and community. Together, we will strive for an A-rating and provide a world-class education for our students. I am committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where every staff member feels valued and empowered.
